Areas of Expertise

Mobility strategy

ACS MediHealth started working in the healthcare vertical in 1998 with Patient Care Technologies (now MEDITECH Home Care) designing and creating patient care within the home in collaboration with one another. For 24+ years, ACS MediHealth has helped clinical sites in LTAC, Acute, Ambulatory, and Home Health and Hospice create mobility strategies to meet the ever changing demands of healthcare. • Integration with centralized and/or decentralized collection facilities.

  • Wireless bedside label printing, which reduces errors and the need to print extra labels.

  • Regular updates of orders to be collected as well as collection instructions.

  • Flexible support of multiple wireless mobile devices, offering ease-of-use and durability.

  • The ability to use a pop out Search Patient routine to identify patients not on the worklist and either display a list of current specimens to be collected or provide the option to print demographic labels if no specimen collection is required.

poc nursing

Electronic medical record (EMR) point-of-care (POC) documentation in patients' rooms is a recent shift in technology use in hospitals. POC documentation reduces inefficiencies, decreases the probability of errors, promotes information transfer, and encourages the nurse to be at the bedside. ACS MediHealth strives to help nurses spend quality time with their patient while reducing clinical errors through technology. Learn more here.

Materials management

MEDITECH’s Materials Management (MM) solution allows users to process inventory routines on a handheld terminal. Once the terminal is purchased, it has software pre-installed. The software is then tailored to produce files adhering to MEDITECH’s specifications. Once processed on the handheld terminal, files are uploaded into the MEDITECH system. Inventory quantity is adjusted and General Ledger accounts are hit. Learn more here.

Workstations on wheels (wow)

At the risk of stating the obvious, mobile workstations are a replacement for the stationary, desktop workstations that are used in most businesses, including the healthcare business. These workstations are typically operated by nurses for two reasons:

  • Patient Documentation – Nurses spend 25-50% of their shifts documenting patient interactions, including health status. Doctors who see patients in the hospital record details on a chart and transcribe it later.

  • Viewing Patient Records – Doctors use workstations to view a patient’s electronic medical history, or to view the results of recent medical imaging tests, such as x-rays or CAT Scans, for diagnostic purposes.
